Do you ever just listen to a Townes van Zandt song and want to sell all of your belongings and spend the rest of your days on horseback? Well, that is an urge that I have on the regular. I am a very fortunate woman, for I have a life where I can get up and go wherever I’d like, but I usually swap out the steed for a Jeep.

What originally began as car trips in search of the best rock climbing locations turned into a love affair with being on the road. I swap out speed for moseying. I want to see as many lakes, big rocks, trees, little squirrels, stars, and bison as I can. Going slow shows you more. I once filled up at a gas station that also sold alpacas.

What began as journalling along the road turned into documenting, which grew into the opportunity to share these experiences with others. I want folks to feel inspired to get out there. Eat that truck-stop burger, take a picture of that dang dragonfly, stub your toe on a tree root. But don’t take it from me, take it from our good old friend T.V.Z; “there’s not prettier sight than looking back at a town you left behind.”

Introducing Coho Park  Squamish is such a cool place to visit. There truly is something for everyone. There’s water, there’s trees, there’s animals, there’s tall hills, small hills, full on mountains, big sky, fun people, crazy plants, and enough wide open spaces to fill several lifetimes.  Sometimes visiting a place like Squamish can be intimidating, …

Planning for Hawaii! Well well well, another lucky duck who’s headed towards one of the most beautiful places on the planet. Introducing the Mamquam Falls Hike I was lucky enough to just happen upon the Mamquam falls hike the other day. A friend and I were exploring the FSR (Forest Service Roads) around the Squamish area and ended up parking and sleeping in the backwoods for the night.  It was raining the following morning (as is …

Introducing Brandywine Falls Provincial Park  A hike a day truly keeps the doctor away. Gearing up for the Perfect Day at the Beach  There was nothing I enjoyed more than going to beach as a kid. We would frequently visit a beach called Sandbanks Dunes, in southern Ontario with some family friends, and my brightest memories are from those visits.  I would spend my days crouched over in the …

Introducing Acton Recreation Area  If I have to think back on all of the different campsites that I have visited throughout my life (I think we’re into the hundreds at this point) there aren’t too many that can beat the beauty, remote serenity, and stillness of Acton recreation area. Touring Amnicon Falls State Park  I recently went on a road trip starting in Montreal, Quebec and travelling across North America to the west coast. Driving through Michigan is… quite frankly, extremely boring. Nothing but trees and trees and trees and road.  So when we happened upon the Amnicon Falls State Park, we were so …
